Career Expert Tory Johnson/Women for Hire
Co-host Career Fair
We are thrilled to announce a partnership with career expert Tory Johnson, CEO of Women For Hire and Workplace Contributor on ABC’s Good Morning America, to host the ReWork Career Fair at the Texas Conference for Women on November 12. The Career Fair will feature local and national employers and recruiters with current employment opportunities in Texas. Expert speakers will present workshops on career development and advancement as well as practical advice such as resume development and networking tips.
The Career Fair offers attendees a great opportunity to meet face-to-face with top employers, to network with other professionals, and learn how to position yourself and your career in today’s challenging work environment. This is the ideal chance to ask questions, sell yourself, and gather valuable information that you wouldn't otherwise be able to obtain. Scholarship Applications Due June 26
The Texas Conference for Women awards six $5,000 scholarships to outstanding female college students who balance academics, service, and leadership to make a difference in the community. Learn more

“Boost Your Business by Going Green”
Small Business Contest

Do you know a small woman-owned business in Texas that’s taking great strides while reducing its carbon footprint?
The Texas Conference for Women’s “Boost Your Business by Going Green” contest invites women-owned small businesses based in Texas to submit innovative ways they’re making a positive impact on the environment. Three winners will receive $15,000, $10,000 and $5,000 worth of energy-efficient HP technology equipment. Winners will be announced at the 2009 Texas Conference for Women, November 12 in Houston.
