This session will explore the patterns of health decline over the last 30 years – the staggering truths and the links to why they are happening. Katherine Anderson will provide an overview of top supplements for women, including fish oil, vitamin D, calcium, magnesium, black cohosh and probiotics. Each of these have strong indications for women’s health in both managing common symptoms and thinking ahead with preventative maintenance.

3:40 – 3:55 PM: Blind Ambition: From Pediatric Brain Tumor to Paralympic Hopeful
Patricia Walsh delivers a message of overcoming obstacles, living beyond excuses, and achieving to an individual’s full potential. Diagnosed with a severe pediatric brain tumor, Patricia Walsh became blind at age five due to complications of surgery. As a teenager she struggled with depression and hopelessness. Today, she is a world champion triathlete (having raced in over 12 marathons and ultra-marathons) and an award-winning engineer (becoming one of the first blind engineers at Microsoft). Patricia is the national champion for the Olympic distance and recently secured Bronze for the United States in the Short Course World Championship in Beijing, China 2011. Her inspirational story will teach you how to dream big and watch your dreams come true!

3:40 –3:55 PM On the Right Track with Heart Health: Pro Motorsports Racing Meets Public Service
Mica Mosbacher, Honorary Consul General to Iceland, philanthropist and award-winning writer recently joined the world of professional auto racing as director of off-track events for Godstone Ranch Motorsports (GMS), a family-owned non-profit corporation created to raise awareness and funds for select causes through the allure of professional motorsports racing. Recently, GMS officially teamed up with the American Heart Association (AHA) to spread the life-saving message of its new Hands-Only CPR campaign. This session will offer an overview of GMS’s commitment to giving back and its unique fundraising vehicle; why the issue of cardiovascular health is so important; and the life-saving simplicity of AHA’s Hands-Only CPR program.
