Sharing Our Strength Through Scholarships
One of the most important aspects of the Texas Conference for Women is its scholarship program, which has awarded more than $100,000 in educational scholarships to deserving college women. Six amazing women will each receive $5,000 scholarships this year, and you'll learn more about them at the conference.
We had such an incredible response to our call for applications that we want to be able to help more college women achieve their goals. For the first time, we are giving YOU the opportunity to donate to the Texas Conference for Women scholarship program. If each attendee gave $1, we could create six new $1000 scholarships; a $5 contribution from attendees would generate more than $30,000 in additional funds. Please consider a contribution of any amount and help make a difference in the lives of more women.
You may donate online when you register, or mail a check to: Texas Conference for Women, P.O. Box 12944,
Austin, TX 78711.

Want to Protect the Planet?
Use Your Big Green Purse
By Diane MacEachern. Any conversation we have about protecting the planet needs to begin with our purses. Why? Because what we do with our purses, and more specifically, how we spend the money in our purses, makes all the difference in the world. Read More > |

Slow Down and Enjoy the Ride
By Jon Gordon. They say the day we die we'll have 30 emails in our inbox, an unfinished to-do list, and voicemails we have not returned. The fact is, we'll never get it all done, no matter how much we do, so we might as well slow down and enjoy the ride. "But how can I slow down," you might say, "when I have bills to pay, projects at work to finish, kids to raise and a to-do list as long as the Great Wall of China. If I slow down won't my productivity go down the drain?" Read More > |

Take Action Against
the Language of Fat
By Jessica Weiner. Are you waiting to be skinnier, thinner, more toned, more tanned, better dressed, more lovable, sexier, nicer, smarter, funnier or wealthier before you begin your life? Millions of us are. And it's a complete waste of time. Body obsession and the quest for perfection are destroying our lives. Read More > |

Banking on Success
When women in the workplace—especially entrepreneurs—think about banks, they almost always have access to capital in mind. And, no question, that is an incredibly useful linkage. But there's another potentially beneficial linkage women seldom consider, that of a career in banking. Read More > |

Conference Sessions:
A
Sneak Peek |
 |
| |
| "Each year I look forward to the Texas Conference for Women. The joy I experience when I see thousands of women networking and lifting up each other is phenomenal. Imagine how we as a group will be part of the changing future! Our children (especially our daughters) will have new doors opened to them and shall see no limitations, thanks to the pioneers who started and continue to forge through this great annual event. In this fast-paced society, the conference should be looked upon as not only a model of excellence and progressiveness for women, but it should also be hailed as a visionary tool for both our daughters and our sons."
