Marian Cabanillas

MARIAN CABANILLAS serves as the president of UnitedHealthcare Community & State’s South Texas Health Plan. She is responsible for leading initiatives at the health plan that result in growth through strategic relationships and innovation. Cabanillas leads teams that are responsible for provider, member, community and employee engagement. She joined UnitedHealthcare in 2004 and has over twenty years of experience in the health care industry. She has worked in both the public and private sector, with an emphasis on public health care and government products such as Medicaid, Medicare and CHIP. Her prior roles include president of health plan operations, vice president of marketing and network development, and director of contracting. Prior to joining UnitedHealth Group, Cabanillas served as the director of managed care for MHMRA of Harris County. She also teaches healthcare administration courses to MBA students at the University of Phoenix. She serves on the board of directors of Change Happens! and on the President’s advisory board of the Special Olympics of Texas. Cabanillas earned a BA in psychology at the University of Houston and an MBA in healthcare administration at the University of Phoenix. She also completed the executive development program at the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School of Business. @myuhc
