Attendees: Important Conference Day Logistics

It’s an interesting time to be a woman in America, and next week’s Texas Conference for Women promises to be a powerful one.

We’ve got leaders, thinkers, and innovators galore coming together for one day next Friday. Prepare to be inspired!

Read on for important logistical information, and stay tuned for one more email from us to help you plan your day at the Conference.

Don’t Forget Your Badge!

Your badge is your ticket to the event. Please print and cut out your badge before you arrive—we’ll provide the badge holder and lanyard. You’ll find instructions for printing and emailing badges in your confirmation letter. Only the main registrant can log in to the registration and email badges. For questions about your registration, please contact [email protected].

Seating Assignments. You’ll find your table assignment for the keynote luncheon on your printed badge. Seat assignments are strictly enforced. The morning keynote is open seating.

Parking Particulars

We encourage you to think about your travel plan—and back-up plan—in advance. The best way to get to the Austin Convention Center on November 9th is to take CapMetro, a taxi or ride sharing service like RideAustin, or to carpool.

If you must drive (or have organized a carpool, you go-getter!), please carefully study the parking options and advice on our Travel page. You’ll find maps, prices and even an option to reserve discounted parking in advance. Remember, there will be more attendees than available parking spaces at the Convention Center, so pay attention to the free shuttles from nearby Palmer Garage and consider other off-site lots (shuttle service only available from Palmer Garage).

Special Meal Requests

Although the date has passed to guarantee a vegetarian, vegan or gluten-free meal, we can accommodate a few more requests, while quantities last. Please log in to your registration to check availability of special meals (only main registrants can login to registration–if someone else registered you, please ask them to check and make the choice for you if it is still available). Click here for a description of the meals.

Update Your Résumé

You’ll definitely want to take advantage of free career coaching and résumé review sessions throughout the day. A printed copy of your CV and some time spent pondering your goals will both come in handy at the Conference! Plus, some of our sponsors will have talent acquisition teams on site. Don’t be caught empty-handed!

NEW App for 2018!

We listened to your feedback, and this year we’ll be rolling out a brand-new Conference app with improved features and functionality to make your conference day a breeze!

If you have the TexasWomen app from last year, please delete it. We’ll let you know how to download the new app soon!

Community Connection Opportunities

There is nothing more important for our community than to stay engaged—and vote.

While the Conference will be held after the upcoming election, please stop by our new Civic Engagement area in the Community Pavilion to learn more about how you can get involved in shaping your community.

★ Texas Women Helping Texas Teachers
Hurricane Harvey is a distant memory for many of us but thousands of Texas teachers are still working in temporary spaces and trying to restock all the classroom materials lost in that epic storm.  Attendees at this year’s Texas Conference for Women can support Texas teachers by funding teacher-defined projects from impacted schools across the 41 Harvey-hit counties. The Rebuild Texas Fund will provide a 1:1 (2x) or 4:1 (5x) match on your gift so more teachers get the supplies and materials they need! Learn more and participate in our virtual drive here.

A Note for New Moms

Nursing mothers will have four dedicated rooms for peaceful pumping during the Conference: One in the Trinity Box Office on the 1st Floor; one next to Meeting Room 1 on the 1st Floor; one across from Meeting Room 10C on the 3rd Floor; and one in Meeting Room 13AB, located on the 4th Floor. Privacy & refrigeration will be provided.
