CHINA WIDENER serves as Deloitte’s Consulting Business Leader in the Telecommunications, Media and Technology industry market focused on technology clients. She also serves on Deloitte’s Global Diversity and Inclusion Council and Black Action Council.

In her role as a prominent Diversity and Inclusion leader, China led the development of programming designed to acquire, grow and retain women and diverse practitioners. A key program inaugurated during her tenure is an innovative approach to preparing clients and practitioners for growth – SpRING (Sponsorship Readiness to Invest, Network and set Goals). She has been featured in Savoy Magazine discussing the value of Sister Circles and interviewed in several publications regarding women leadership development. She has served as a keynote speaker or panelist for national and regional conferences including the Texas Conference for Women, the Deloitte Women’s Leadership Launch, and Women of Color in Management Consulting.

As a consulting leader, China has advised commercial and government clients on business and operating transformation and outcome-based performance process design. Before joining Deloitte in 2006, China spent 15 years in industry holding various C-suite roles including COO, Chief of Strategy and Chief Risk Officer, and served as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney and in-house Counsel.

China received her B.S. in Government, Economics, and Philosophy from Eastern Michigan University, and holds a J.D. from the University of Maryland, Francis King Carey School of Law. She has studied at Harvard’s Kennedy.
