Katie Mahon
Katie Mahon describes stepping away from her fast-tracked career in senior management in banking to be as uncomfortable as it was liberating. In retrospect, it was a defining moment that ultimately led her to the writing and publication of “The Miracle Chase: Three Women, Three Miracles, and a Ten Year Journey of Discovery and Friendship.” As three-time past president of the San Francisco Chapter of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Mahon was instrumental in launching the first Race for the Cure in the Bay Area, developing a corporate fundraising program and initiating a free mammography program for underserved women. She also served on the board of The College Preparatory School in Oakland, California until she moved to New York City in 2009. She continues to keep causes related to the empowerment of women and access to education close to her heart. Mahon has spent the last year engaging listeners and readers on radio, television and at book events all around the country. Mahon graduated from the University of Santa Clara.www.themiraclechase.com
