Shannon Buggs

Shannon Buggs’ passion for reading and writing led her to pursue a career in journalism and communications and to start a poetry nonprofit organization that promotes literacy and leadership. An award-winning journalist and dedicated community volunteer, Buggs is a multi-media personality with 20 years of experience in local, national and business news coverage and more than three decades of nonprofit service as a volunteer and leader. In 2010, Shannon was honored as one of Houston’s 50 Most Influential Women by Houston Woman Magazine.
