Texas Conference for Women Receives $10,000 Grant from Google to Fund Young Women’s Program
The Texas Conference for Women has received a $10,000 grant from Google to underwrite attendance for financially disadvantaged female junior and senior high school students. The grant will provide 140 students from underserved communities in Central Texas the opportunity to join thousands of others for a day of inspiration, networking and skill building at the Austin Convention Center on Wednesday, October 24.
The Texas Conference for Women was awarded the grant to help fund its Young Women’s Program. The Program stems from the belief that young women are often discouraged from pursuing their dreams, or simply not shown the way and aims to inspire them to dream big. In the 13-year history of the Conference, more than 6,000 young women have been able to take part in this empowering event.
Like all other Conference attendees, Young Women’s Program participants can take advantage of exclusive Conference offerings including Local Leader Meet Ups, Expert Exchange sessions, resume reviews, Mentor Match and the Health & Wellness Pavilion.
The Young Women’s Program is also made possible by the Conference’s presenting sponsor Dell, as well as United Airlines and United Healthcare.
