2016 Conference Day Logistics

Texas Conference For Women

November 15th is on the horizon, and in order to make your conference day go as smoothly as possible, we have a few important reminders for you.

(Stay tuned for one more email that will help you plan your day around all the great programming we’ve set up this year!)

When You Arrive…

If you already have your name badge, you do NOT need to check in at the registration desk upon arrival – you may proceed to pick up your lanyard with badge holder outside the Exhibit Hall (Halls 1 & 2) and tote bag with goodies just inside the Hall.

Seating Assignments: Your badge includes your seating assignment for lunch. We ask that you sit only at your assigned seat during that time. However, all other sessions, including the morning keynote session, are open seating.

Tip: Download the App

With so much to do in just one day, it pays to be prepared. Get a head start on planning your day—and getting to know fellow attendees, if you like—by downloading our all-new 2016 app, sponsored by Cisco and now available on all major platforms by searching “TexasWomen” (or find download links here).

Browse the full program and save your own custom agenda for the day. Share your information (optional) to make networking a breeze. Get maps, session descriptions and speaker information with a tap of the finger, and receive realtime alerts wherever you are!

Getting to the Conference

On November 15th, approximately 7,500 women will converge on the Austin Convention Center at the same time.

We cannot stress enough how important it is to plan ahead for traffic, parking and crowded public transit. We suggest you take public transportation or carpool if at all possible, and allow extra time for travel so you don’t miss anything.

Capital Metro’s MetroRail stops directly outside the Austin Convention Center (“Downtown Station”) – it couldn’t be more convenient! Visit CapMetro’s website to plan your trip by bus or rail and download the CapMetro app to pay for your fare with a credit or debit card. Please note the ticket machines at the stations now only accept cash.

For those driving, the Conference has arranged for free shuttles from Palmer Event Center Garage. Parking at Palmer is $8.

You’ll find directions, parking options, maps, discounts and help navigating public transportation on our Travel page.

Bring Your Resume

In addition to free one-on-one career coaching and professional resume review opportunities, you will find talent acquisition teams from some of our sponsors in the Career Pavilion.

A Note for Moms

The Austin Convention Center is equipped with private “nursing pods” located on the first floor outside Ballroom A. We will also provide dedicated nursing rooms in the Trinity Box Office (1st floor) and Meeting Room 13 (4th floor) with power outlets and privacy screens. You’ll find a refrigerator in MR 13 for storage. Please plan for the possibility of a crowd during peak break times and bring a battery-operated pump if you have one.
