NEW TRAVEL RECOMMENDATIONS

Due to ongoing CapMetro construction, our travel recommendations have changed for the 2019 Conference. Please read the information below carefully as you plan your trip to the Conference on October 24th or Opening Night on the 23rd.

How are you planning to get to the Conference?

Here are some options for 2019:

⚬  Ride MetroBus (supplied by CapMetro during construction)
⚬  Rideshare (e.g., RideAustin)
⚬  Park at Palmer Garage and take the Conference’s complimentary shuttle (lot will fill fast!)
⚬  Park at a nearby lot (map below)
⚬  Reserve a parking spot in advance (see SpotHero discount code below)

Ride MetroBus to the Conference

Capital Metro’s MetroRail service to the Austin Convention Center (“Downtown Station”) is temporarily suspended for construction. MetroExpress bus service will offer you a great alternative, though. Express service from North Austin provides reliable transit on MoPac’s Express Lanes, bypassing rush hour congestion. Visit CapMetro’s website to see your options.

Also, High-Frequency MetroBus and MetroRapid routes provide great service into downtown. See below for your best options according to your normal MetroRail station:

⚬  Leander Station –Route 985 Leander/Lakeline Direct
⚬  Lakeline Station –Route 985 Leander/Lakeline Direct
⚬  Howard Station – Route 980 North MoPac Express
⚬  Kramer Station –Route 803 Burnet/South Lamar (at Domain, parking available)
⚬  Crestview Station –Route 7 Duval/Dove Springs & Route 801 North Lamar/South Congress
⚬  Highland Station –Route 7 Duval/Dove Springs
⚬  MLK Station –Route 18 MLK

Driving & Parking

Parking for the event is limited and we strongly encourage carpooling, ride sharing, and mass transit options.

The two main options for parking at the Conference are:

> Park at the Austin Convention Center. The Convention Center has two garages, and information and rates for each can be found at http://www.austinconventioncenter.com/directions/directions.htm.

> Park at the Palmer Events Center (w/ free shuttle service). Parking and shuttle service will be available at the Palmer Events Center Garage (900 Barton Springs Road). Shuttle service will pick up at the South Circle driveway (off of Barton Springs Road) at the Palmer Events Center and run to the Austin Convention Center beginning at 6:00 am in a continuous loop until 6:00 pm. Parking fees at Palmer Garage are $8.

Handicapped Access Parking: Individuals with a hang tag can park free at any meter on the street. There are also designated parking spaces on each level of the Austin Convention Center garage.
