Melinda Cook McMichael, M.D., FACP

Melinda McMichael, M.D., practices primary care and internal medicine at the University of Texas at Austin University Health Services. She previously served as medical director of that organization, and continues to contribute in various clinical and administrative capacities. Her current practice includes a special interest in the treatment of eating disorders.

Dr. McMichael received her medical degree from the University of Kansas and completed a residency in internal medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, where she served a year as chief resident and clinical instructor in internal medicine. She is board certified in internal medicine and is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. She is a member of the Travis County Medical Society, Texas Medical Association, American Medical Association and the American College Health Association.

In 2007, Dr. McMichael was appointed by Governor Rick Perry to the Texas Medical Board; she currently holds the position of board vice-president.
