You are invited into the Community Connection Pavilion to help us make a fleece blankets for Meals on Wheels recipients. We’ll show you how – using a popular new technique! All blankets will be given, along with meals and groceries, to Austin families in need.

• Sign up to walk in one of the Walks to End Alzheimer’s scheduled across the state of Texas.
• Sign up to sponsor a volunteer fundraising activity at the UnitedHealthcare Children’s Foundation’s cozy reading corner. While there, check out the UHCCF books, “grins to go” bags and adorable, stuffed characters from the Oliver & Hope book series.

Meals on Wheels and More
Meals on Wheels operates in virtually every community in America through a network of more than 5,000 independently-run local programs. In Austin, Meals on Wheels and More distributes 3,000 meals daily to homebound older adults and people with disabilities. Founded in Austin in 1972, the organization offers a wide variety of additional services, including home repairs, grocery shopping assistance, veteran services, and even pet food and pet health care for clients’ dogs and cats. The 501 c 3 organization is a member of the Meals on Wheels Association but receives no funds from it. For more information, please visit mealsonwheelsandmore.org.
The Alzheimer’s Association is the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer’s care, support and research. Its mission is to eliminate Alzheimer’s disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health. UnitedHealthcare Children’s Foundation
The UnitedHealthcare Children’s Foundation (UHCCF) is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that provides medical grants to help children gain access to health-related services not covered, or not fully covered, by their parents’ commercial health insurance plan. Families can receive up to $5,000 annually per child ($10,000 lifetime maximum per child), and do not need to have insurance through UnitedHealthcare to be eligible. UHCCF was founded in 1999. Since 2007, UHCCF has awarded 10,000 grants valued at over $28 million to children and their families across the United States.
