KRISTEN CABRERA is a producer and reporter for the award-winning national daily news show of Texas, Texas Standard. Originally from the Rio Grande Valley, she strives to reflect her home in her coverage across beats, with a particular focus on arts and culture that highlight Texas’ diversity as well as the unique people that make up the state. Kristen is also a backup director, curating and showcasing stories from other Texas member stations for the show, including the award-winning special live coverage of Attorney General Ken Paxton’s impeachment trial. Kristen is a graduate of the University of Texas – Pan American (now UTRGV) and The Salt Institute for Documentary Studies.
