LIZ McDANIEL WATSON is a happy retiree and grandma to Effie (5) and Birdie (2); property manager, dog wrangler, serial remodeler and house hopper.  Married for 44 years to Kirk Watson, Mayor of Austin and Former State Senator. She was previously a television anchor, producer and reporter; a former Healthcare administrator at Seton Medical Center (now Ascension). Watson is one of the founders of Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in Austin and her other board and volunteering background includes SAFE (formerly Center for Battered Women); Habitat for Humanity; AISD Foundation Board (Austin Ed Foundation now); Health Alliance for Austin Musicians; GEN Austin Girls conference; Austin Sister Cities President; Chair of Millennium celebration for Austin; Austin High Boys Lacrosse; New Horizons Lacrosse; and several different Austin neighborhood groups.
