Tammy Tibbetts

Tammy Tibbetts passionately advocates the power of social media to create social change. She is the founder and president of She’s the First, a not-for-profit that sponsors girls’ education in the developing world. Tibbetts co-founded the benefit concert for She’s the First, GIRLS WHO ROCK, which is held during Internet Week New York and has raised more than $20,000 in the past two years. This past June, @GirlsWhoRockNY was named the second most influential Twitter handle and selected in Time Out New York from more than 250 events during the festival. She’s the First has been recognized at Glamour’s Women of the Year Awards at Carnegie Hall and in the Huffington Post’s “Greatest Person of the Day” series. Tibbetts was named a Social Change Ambassador for Levi’s Shape What’s to Come campaign in 2010 and is also a member of the Young Entrepreneur Council and New York Women in Communications. While scaling She’s the First, Tibbetts freelances as a social media editor at a national teen magazine. She is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the College of New Jersey with a B.A. in journalism.
